Mouthwash and your dental routine

Mouth Wash and your Dental Routine.

Dental mouthwash can be a useful weapon in your dental health routine.

Brush, floss and rinse? Brushing removes most food, bacteria and plaque from the surface of your teeth and  flossing gets in where your brush can’t reach . Some of us wonder if they should include mouthwash in their dental routine . Check with your dentist as he will be able to advise you on which mouthwash is suitable for you. If you suffer from a dry mouth it is best to avoid mouthwashes with alcohol in them as it will dry your mouth out even more. Some mouthwashes may include fluoride to help make  teeth more resilient to acid attacks, helping defend against tooth decay.

Whilst mouthwash can leave your breath smelling fresh, brushing is your best options and regular dental check ups is your best option for a healthy mouth. Saliva is our mouths natural mouth wash that helps keep bacteria that cause bad breath and gingivitis. Salt water rinses can also be a good and easy way to have a mouth rinse especially after dental work or illness.

There are so many types of mouth washes available these days so check with your dentist as to which one is suitable for you.
